Welcome to WELTEX Saudi Arabia Ltd., where we specialize in deploying cutting-edge Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) technology to safeguard and enhance the security of critical infrastructure and Fiber Optics Base Leak Detection (FO LDS)
Our tailored DAS Architectural solutions offer continuous, real-time monitoring and surveillance, ensuring the integrity and safety of assets across various industries.
WELTEX Saudi Arabia Ltd. together with its Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) partner OptaSense Ltd. provide a complete Turnkey, or Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) solution throughout Saudi Arabia.
The Partnership was formed in December 2015, and OptaSense was officially approved by SWCC as sub-sub contractor to Weltex Saudi Arabia.
The first project to be implemented was Ras Al Khair Part-1 DAS WTS. This was started in June 2016 and completed August 2020. This was the first project successfully completed for SWCC.
During the same period Weltex started 2 more projects for SWCC:
Riyadh New City Feeders (RNCF) DAS WTS implemented from September 2016 and completed February 2021. LDS, in addition to TPI, was introduced to SWCC during this project.
Shoaiba-Mina Line B DAS WTS TPI & LDS started January 2019 and completed February 2021.
We have so far completed 10+ projects with OptaSense & 11+ ongoing projects as well.
For detailed list of completed and ongoing projects, please refer to attached DAS experience list (Ongoing & Completed projects).
Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) is an innovative technology that utilizes fibre optic cables as highly sensitive sensors to detect and monitor acoustic signals throughout their entire span. This advanced method allows for real-time monitoring of infrastructure, providing valuable insights into operational conditions and potential security risks as well as pipeline leaks.
A key benefit of DAS is its ability to offer uninterrupted, round-the-clock monitoring of infrastructure. By continuously capturing and analysing acoustic signals in real time, DAS swiftly detects and addresses potential issues or security threats, effectively minimizing the risk of operational disruptions or breaches.
DAS technology is famous for its high sensitivity, capable of detecting even the smallest acoustic vibrations or disturbances. This capability enables early detection of anomalies such as leaks, intrusions, or structural weaknesses, allowing for proactive intervention before these issues escalate.
Utilizing existing fibre optic networks, DAS provides a cost-effective solution for comprehensive infrastructure monitoring. This approach avoids the significant expenses linked to installing extra sensors or monitoring equipment, allowing organizations to maximize their investment in fibre optic networks.
DAS systems can cover large areas, making them well-suited for monitoring extensive infrastructures like pipelines, railways, and critical facility perimeters. This extensive coverage ensures continuous monitoring of key areas, thereby improving overall security and operational efficiency.
With its ability to provide real-time data and immediate alerts, DAS significantly enhances the security posture of infrastructure. By continuously monitoring acoustic signals, DAS enables rapid responses to security breaches or unauthorized access attempts, ensuring a proactive approach to security management.

At WELTEX, we follow a structured approach to deliver effective DAS solutions tailored to meet the
specific needs and operational requirements of our clients:
We start by thoroughly checking your buildings and areas that need protection. We figure out what you want to achieve and what challenges you might face.
After understanding your needs, our experts create a special plan just for you. This plan works with your existing setup and meets all your goals. We decide where to put the cables and set up the system so it works perfectly.
Our skilled workers put in the DAS equipment carefully. They follow all the rules and make sure everything is set up just right. This includes putting the fibre optic cables in the best spots for the sensors to work perfectly.
We test the system thoroughly to make sure it works accurately. This includes adjusting the sensors to be very sensitive, testing how well they work, and making sure they can handle different situations.
Once everything's set up and tested, the DAS system keeps an eye on things non-stop. It listens for any unusual sounds through the fibre optic cables. If it spots something strange, it tells us right away so we can check it out.
We use smart tools to look at all the data the system gathers. This helps us create detailed reports and useful information. These reports tell us about the health of your buildings, any security problems, and how well everything's running.
We are here to help even after everything's set up. We check the system regularly, update the software, and fix any problems quickly. This way, your system stays reliable and works well all the time.
DAS technology has diverse applications across various industries, including:
In the oil and gas industry, DAS is used to watch over pipelines to find leaks, keep out unauthorized people, and spot any unusual activities. By listening for sounds that might mean something's wrong with the pipelines, DAS helps companies make sure their pipelines stay strong and avoid accidents that could harm the environment.
DAS provides real-time insights into railway track conditions, including the detection of train movements, track defects, and potential security threats. This capability enhances railway safety and operational efficiency by enabling timely maintenance interventions and ensuring uninterrupted service.
At critical facilities such as airports, military bases, and industrial sites, DAS is employed for perimeter security. By detecting and alerting security personnel to perimeter breaches or unauthorized access attempts, DAS helps mitigate security risks and safeguard sensitive areas and assets.
DAS technology helps check the condition of bridges, tunnels, and buildings to make sure they're safe. It listens for vibrations and movements that might show there's a problem with the structure. By catching these early signs, DAS helps fix issues quickly to keep everything safe and working well.
WELTEX boasts a team of seasoned professionals with extensive experience in deploying and managing DAS technology across diverse industries. Our expertise ensures that we deliver robust, tailored solutions that address the unique needs and challenges of each client.
At WELTEX, we believe in delivering top-notch service every step of the way. From planning and setting up to keeping things running smoothly, we make sure our DAS solutions perform at their best.
